The Melrose Place DVD series is an American television series that ran between 1992 and 1999, created by Darren Star for the FOX network.

It centered on the lives of a group of young adults in a small apartment block in the West Hollywood district of Los Angeles California. It ran for seven increasingly soapy seasons and spawned the short-lived Models, Inc.

Melrose Place's blend of melodrama, dark humor, unapologetic sexual nature, and shocking off the wall moments have helped the show remain a topic of discussion since the show went off the air.

Melrose Place began as an awkward spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210. It started when Kelly played by Jennie Garth fell for Dylan's older carpenter friend Jake played by Grant Show, and that unusual romance served as a way to introduce viewers to Jake's pals on Melrose Place.

I had been waiting for the Melrose Place DVDs to come out on DVD forever. Unfortunately they have only released the first two seasons of the Melrose Place DVD series so far. I haven't heard when (or if) the other seasons of Melrose Place will officially be released on DVD.

The first two seasons have excellent video and audio quality. It is 100% in chronological order, commercial free and unedited. The Melrose Place DVD series also includes Custom artwork and episode guides so you can find your favorite episode at anytime.

During the first season, the show became less of an episodic series, and more of a soap opera with ongoing, interwoven stories. Season 2 is one of the best of the entire series with classic storylines throughout.

Melrose Place is fantastic in its soapy melodrama and delivers intense plotlines and riveting stories that will leave you wanting more. If you watch Melrose on DVD you will find it hard to press the stop button. That’s how addicting and enticing the show really is.

Melrose Place was what it was; A delicious mind rot and it also is a perfect example of "bad TV" that's good to watch. With all of the bad comedy and heavy drama on television, the Melrose Place series proved to be a guilty pleasure to view on Monday nights.

The wonderful thing about the Melrose Place television series was that just when you thought that the show was about to make some sense with it’s postmodern commentary it had the courage to take the easy way out and go for the laugh.
